It has been almost ten years since ‘Saints Row IV’ found its way into our game libraries, but the series is finally getting a reboot in the form of a new game titled simply, “Saints Row.” And apparently it stinks.
Outdated in every aspect from its open world design to its core gameplay, riddled with game-breaking bugs, absent any sort of coherent plot and starring an insufferable cast of characters, the Saints Row reboot is a disaster. My review:

With new copies finding their way into reviewers’ hands before the game officially releases to the public, "Saints Row" is already facing an uphill battle with a myriad of bad reviews. Citing everything from boring and ordinary gameplay, to game breaking bugs and glitches, to painfully poor writing, the series known for its comically extravagant excess seems to have faltered in the basics.

This gameplay clip shows off dialogue altogether lacking in the clever nuance Saints Row fans have come to expect.

Ultimately, it’s a huge disappointment that a series remembered for games that pushed the boundaries with satirical levels of insanity, is now being criticized for a game lacking innovation. Hopefully this isn’t the last we see of the Saints Row franchise, and it can return to its old form. I for one know that I’ve never laughed harder than in an old Saints Row game, and it’s painful to hear that we’ll have to wait a bit longer to do so again.
